REINDEER FARM
SAMMUNTUPA

Sammuntupa Reindeer Farm has over 160 years of history. Today, the farm is run by siblings who carry on the family’s long tradition. The name ‘Sammuntupa’ comes from family history – it was named after Ylikoskela’s Sammu, the great-granduncle of Riikka and Topi’s grandmother on their father’s side.

At Sammuntupa, history and tradition meet. Reindeer graze in the enclosures, and the old log houses and buildings breathe stories from past generations. When you arrive at Sammuntupa, you come to a place where the history of Lapland is still present.

A meal at Sammuntupa is more than an ordinary meal — it’s an experience where Lapland’s flavours meet the ambience of a heritage setting. Dining can be arranged in the atmospheric Poropirtti or Eemeli’s pirtti (traditional log cabins), by the fire in the courtyard kota (Lappish hut), or between rounds of steam in the traditional smoke sauna.

Sammuntupa provides the setting for both intimate dinners and larger groups. Whether it’s a corporate event, a celebration, or a relaxed evening with friends, Sammuntupa turns it into an experience to remember.
